no experience with that one - but my wife had a brother before she got her bernina. I think she would get rid of one of the kids before she gave up her Bernina.

If it is one of the mechanical machines, like the XL-3500 or the LS-590, I'd say go for it. I ran the bejeepers out of my XL-3500 for nearly 5 years before it died through no fault of its own. During those five years I had it, I made almost all of my clothing and my child's clothing, including jeans, wool coats, polar fleece hoodies, pants and pajamas, flannel pajamas, and summer weight broadcloth short and shirt outfits. I also made blankets out of fleece scraps sewn into crazy quilts. I used it so heavily that the presser foot was getting worn. The only thing I found that it didn't like was jersey knit, which it tended to stuff into the bobbin case. Last summer my cat knocked it off my sewing table and bent the needle bar. The repairman couldn't figure out what was wrong with it, so I pulled it apart and figured it out. Parts weren't available, so that was the end of it. But I was pleased to see that the inside was mostly metal and in very good shape still, except for the bent needle bar. Now, if that is the Project Runway model, which weighs almost nothing, is computerized and I have no idea what is inside it, I'd be leery. I looked at it and passed when I saw how lightweight it was.
