To the serious Abers in the audience: It is time for us to take back our little website from all the nonsense, waste of time Q and A. This used to be a serious site with real answers and a lot of personality to boot. Everyone loves jokes, socializing and such, but it used to be relatively minimal with serious questions and the correct, serious answer was top of the list. It has become more and more, a popularity contest consisting of a high school mentality with lame jokes and even lamer questions, getting triple digit points or close to it. I urge all those who care about the credibility and quality of this site to start using your "not helpful" buttons often and with just cause. Help guide the newbies to the way it used to be. No, this site is not just about points and ranks, but we need to give them some meaning to keep the site legitimate. I am not advocating trolling and never would, but if an answer is incorrect, ridiculous, and/or offensive, do not hesitate to rate down or flag. It is time to bring this site back to glory ~imagine a flag drop down behind me and your particular national anthem playing in the background, at the end...FIREWORKS~

I want to tell the people of Argentina, I've decided I should decline... wait, that's the wrong speech. (shuffles papers) Ladies and gentlemen of the Answerbag community, honored Staff, the press, I stand before you today to discuss with you a threat that imperils our great site and everything that it stands for, and advise you of the actions we are taking in order to overcome it. The photograph displayed on the screen behind me was taken at 1:15pm today, Eastern Standard Time, by one of our many reconaissance satellites arrayed in low earth orbit around the globe. The highlighted area has been identified by our intelligence agency as the top secret headquarters and training camp of the Trolls, our bitter enemy. After conferring with leaders of allied sites, the Answerbag government has decided to act without the cooperation of their governments, and has dispatched numerous Special Operations units who will be entering the encampment as we speak. A prolonged airstrike was undertaken beginning just over an hour ago, and we are confident that the efforts of our fighting men and women will be a complete success. Or goal is straightforward: to eliminate the Troll menace, once and for all. We wish our troops Godspeed, and may all our prayers be with them. I would like to thank all those who have made it possible: my late parents, without whom I would never have had to fodder to answer those questions on family and relationships, my theology teachers for their classes on "Non-christian religions", my dentist for enabling me to become an expert on AB in "Dental and Oral Hygeine Home Remedies" (according to my profile) and the children in the Balinese orphanages I support who inspire me on all those ethical questions....and finally my husband, whose patience and willingness to go without ironed shirts has permitted me to be on AB so many hours a week....(sobs) and...(sobs again)...I really DO want world peace....

We have some of the finest minds gathered in one place peacefully co-existing in our diversity, celebrating our unity, and cultivating the interests of the individual. We have some of the finest minds gathered in one place examining humanity's past and present, searching for answers and meanings, and shaping the future by our knowledge. As individuals, we're all considered somewhat bright and clever. But, together we can become an instrument of societal change spanning the globe. Together, we can effect goverment policy for the ethical treatment of all people. Together, we can create justice. Together, we can feed the hungry and house the homeless. Together we can halt the drug trade. Together we can end terror and abolish government oppression. Together, we can! It's time -- now, today, this moment. It's time for understanding. It's time for commitment. And, it's time for work. My AB friends abroad and in other parts of North and South America, I seek your patience and solidarity. Because we have so much, we must fix the United States first. We must clear out the professional politicians, we must put the media back in check to focus on the real news, we must repair our court and prison system, we must simplify our laws, we must stop the cheaters, the liars, the drug abusers. And, immediately we must feed our hungry children and we must house our forgotten, abandoned throw away people. We can begin the process here by spreading the word, talking to your online friends, and putting presure on our elected represtative by writing them daily or hourly to get what we need.
