That is a real puzzler isn't it? Let me explain a few things about our Temple Ceremonies.

Joseph Smith began receiving revelations about a higher Endowment as early as 1830. Just shortly after the Church was organized.

By 1836, when the Kirtland Temple was dedicated, Joseph had received enough to start administering some of the Endowments to the Saints.

By 1841 Joseph had received the entire Temple Endowment Ceremony.

In 1842 Joseph and Sydney Rigdon became Masons, and advanced to Master Mason in just two days.

However a Master Mason is only a novice in the Masonic Lodge and as a Novice was not allowed to view nor participate in any of their Ceremonies.

Joseph could not have gotten any part of the Temple Ceremony from the Mason's so why do you think our Temple Ceremonies are similar to the Mason's.

Could it be they both came from the Lord? The mason's trace their beginning back to the Temple of Solomon in the days of King David and Solomon.

Joseph Smith claims he received our Ceremonies from the Lord through revelation. But everyone knows that cannot be right! Or could it?...Later
