  • I said that as soon as I saw the story on the news. No doubt in my mind it was staged. You mean that kid hid in the attic all that time? They are glory hogs, Their 5 mins of fame had worn off and they came up with this idea to get back on TV. And that damn balloon couldn't carry a kid in the first place. It barely got itself off the ground.
  • My immediate thought while it was happening was that the boy's house and neighborhood was scoured and he was not found. I was then concerned that the boy might be dead. Even if a child is hiding because his parent may have yelled at/scolded him earlier, the same child later, in hiding ( for a couple of hours), would ( I'd think )certainly note the concerned voices shouting for him -- including most of all, the fear and concern in a parent's voice. If parents were truly in fear for their child and yelling for that child, I'd think the child would note that fear in their parents voices and come out sooner? I don't know. It seems questionable to me but I pretend not to know for sure. +5
  • After what I heard on the news today and the interview with the family I now think it was staged. Especially when Falcon said they were doing it for a television show. They have been on several Reality shows all ready. I would like to believe them but now I have my doubts.
  • Study the behavior of the man and his control over those kids and his wife during the interview. This is not the behavior of someone who has nothing to hide. He is sick and lying his ass off. Watch his behavior on the Wife Swap show. He should have been carted off and arrested during that show. He's a raging maniac.
  • There's nothing to stage, it was just a big accident, they thought the boy was in the weather balloon so took precautions to save him, of course people would be concerned, but he wasn't in the balloon so it was a big mistake.
  • Staged or not it was real, really a farce, joke or a lark not sure and not much more thought going into it. I did think it funny and sad how the media latched unto a non-story in an attempt to be first to look like dopes. To reply to your question I would say that yes, at least someone or more believes it. +5
  • I have some serious doubts about their story, especially after the boy's comment about doing it for a show. If it is a hoax, then I think some jail time is in order, along with a huge fine and many days of community service.
  • A hoax gone wrong. Now the family are trying to cover their butts. Think about it - why would the father think the boy was in the balloon when all the time he was in the house. You could see even a small boy if her was there.
