  • When in Rome, you do as the Romans do... AKA - enjoy the beautiful vineyards and the handed-down family tradition of making wine, wine that I am sure is more pure than most could imagine. I know you can drink a whole bottle and not even get drunk or a next day headache (but not from experience, LOL). I imagine it's much the same for Belgium. Making beer is not just a process but part of a culture. And now... this answer has me majorly craving a good Hefeveissen, some Belgian chocolates, and you guessed it, a big old waffle! HAHA
  • Belgium is famous for it beer making skills and there are literally hundreds of different beers to choose from. A make called Kreik and Lambric produce fruit flavoured beers which are very popular. Other types of lager beers are brewed such as Hoegaarden,Hommel,Lindemans and Leffe Blonde. The Belgians prefer to drink beer in the bars and restaurants and at home.
  • Because they drink less water than beer in Belgium, I suppose.
  • i think its based on where you live and what kind of crops you can grow in the Region where you are living. You can produce it -- So you tend to consume more of it. (and maybe because its cheaper than imports) Canadians drink alot of Beer because there are a lot of wheat farms. Italy, Spain it would be wine --- because Grapes grow well there. But then again this is only my guess.
  • Beer is simply a more delightful and civilized drink. Wine, rightfully or wrongfully, is associated with the ass-backwards Mediterranean culture. Also, beer has more diversity in style and characteristics than wine. Oh, and it tastes better.
