And how is that different from what the government is currently doing?

Nope. I do agree that capitalism, when it loses sight of morality, can be dangerous. Look at the class of robber barons that still exists to this day. However, who says that the accumulation of wealth is a zero-sum game? In its purest form, all capitalism is, is the exchange of needed services for wealth. I can't provide medical assistance for myself, so I pay someone who can. I pay him with money I earned from performing some service that I have to offer to someone else who couldn't do whatever it was for themself and so on and so forth. Nobody is forced to enter into any business contract. People spend their money voluntarily. For the record, I cannot advocate neither pure socialism, nor pure capitalism, as both clearly have their faults. Also, I like you, Pouncey, and don't intend to offend your sensibilities in any way, just offering my perspective, you know?

I believe in capitalism with a very large safety net. Everyone deserves to live comfortably.

Capitalism simply means that you have the right to be paid what your labor is worth, along with the freedom to qualify yourself for the profession of your own choosing. Read the essay "Compensation" by Ralph Waldo Emerson, and then read it a second or third time. You'll learn something new each time you read it. If you happen to be one of the few people that lack the ability to manage your own life, then you should relocate yourself to a socialist country where some department of government will make all the decisions for you. You might consider the Soviet Union. No, they're not around anymore.... Whatever happened to them ???

Only when morality gets into it. Also, when it turns Thanksgiving into a poultry Holocaust. Man, damn turkeys didn't do shit to nobody...

I do, in principle, but I'm not sure capitalism itself is the core problem. Greed and all the "me, first, screw you" people involved in capitalism are the real problem. "the love of money is the root of all evil"

The definition of capitalism is when the resources and means of production are owned by the people as opposed to being owned by the government. There's nothing evil about that, but there are people with evil intentions. In other words, capitalism as a system is not good or evil, it's what you do with it.

Obviously you've not been working for a living. You're obviously also a Republican pretending to be a commie. Your inner B.S.ness shines through.
