  • one of the same to me..no biggie..bigger things in life to worry about
  • Eh, I'm from Oklahoma. Everything's called Coke here. "You want a coke?" "Sure, what kind do you have?" "Sprite." It's substituted for the word pop/soda.
  • My cousins do that. But they mean coke as in general soda, not just Pepsi. (I think that's what you meant, anyway.) Are there restaurants where you say "I want coke," and they ask you what kind? Where I am you say "I want coke" and you get Coca-Cola. But yes, my cousins do it all of the time, it used to confuse me. Heheh.
  • Lots of people do that. This is because of the power of advertising and the perception of popular preference. That is why a cola is a Coke, a tissue is a Kleenex,a children's meal at any fast food place is ordered as a Happy Meal, a photo copy is a Xerox and so on.
  • Being from the southeast and being a DR.PEPPER drinker, I learned a long time ago to be specific or to use the word soda because of new friends in school who grew up in northern states. I still get ribbed for it here because there are words like soda and pop that southerners just don't use.
  • A soda is a coke to me. I always ask my company if they want a coke, but I never stock Cocacola at my house.. I'm drinking a coke right now.. It's a Dr. Pepper.
  • yea-i heard that some people, when they ask for a coke, it can be any kind of soft drink, ranging from cola to root beer.
