What makes you think our believing we are the Saints of the latter days, as spoken of by Daniel, is a secret teaching? Doesn't our name give us away? The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints...I didn't know it was supposed to be a secret...Later
That teaching is not a secret. Jospeh Smith said that the stone that would grow to the fill the earth spoken of by Daniel was the LDS church. There are no secret teachings, however there are sacred ordinances performed.
It's not a secret teaching at all. And are there other "secrets" that can't be shared with the Christian community? No. The whole crux of being a Mormon is you are supposed to obey the Lord and abide by his laws. There's nothing else about it that matters.
"If ye love me, keep my commandments." [John 14:15]
As Peter put it, we ought to obey God rather than men. That means you have to know the Lord personally and not just assume you already know everything, as many Mormons do. If you really want to criticize a Mormon, you should rake him or her over the coals for not studying the scriptures and knowing them better, especially Isaiah. It's useless to go off complaining about something "mysterious" that doesn't exist. Meanwhile, it's no mystery that many Mormons run around being clueless about the Lord their God instead of following Paul's example and putting the Lord above everything.
Criticize Mormons for what they are often guilty of — failing to be sufficiently humble before the throne of our Eternal God, Jesus Christ.
