Being superior in the sense of feeling confident, positive and undefeated is all good; but feeling you are better than everyone in a pompous way is snobbish and not nice.

When we feel superior we inflate the ego.A healthy self image is fine,and to feel good for oneself for ones accomplishments is fantastic.To compare oneself to other people,one will many times be dissatisfied.

Being proud of yourself, and being confident, no, it's not a "sin". You need these qualities to get by in the world. But being cocky, arrogant and egotistical is annoying and uncalled for. I think "superior" would be okay if it has to do with some sort of rank only.

If you try to help people, and they think you are acting superior, that is their own problem, not yours. If you are confident and self-assured, many will feel intimidated. Again, that is their own failing, not yours.

there is a difference between healthy competition and active prejudice. If there is hatred and prejudice in the feeling, it COULD be considered a sin, but that depends on your religion. :) hope it helped <3

"Pride" is one of the mortal sins. There is a difference in being 'proud', as in feeling good about an accompishment, or feeling good or proud for someone else. English is a really poor language for expressing what the ancient Hebrew and Greek meant by "pride". Pride, in the biblical sense, is something that would set you above others in all ways. Pride was the sin of Lucifer.."How art thou fallen, oh, Lucifer, Son of the Morning Star?" Lucifer was an archangel. He was cast out of Heaven in the "twinkling of an eye". I am not an archangel. I don't want to risk it...(smile)
