  • You die and you quit existing. There is no afterlife.
  • "Man, I bet that hurt! Hope I go quicker!"
  • I guess they go back to mud and hope for a lightning storm.
  • you rot in a hole and you feel nothing, but you don't realize you feel nothing because you're dead (if that makes any sense) or (my belief) you're kinda reincarnated into another human sole with no memory of your past life [like re-incarnation without the charma and spiritual BS] or you just feel peacefull nothingness (like heaven except without the spirits and faith and all other BS)
  • You die and that is it. I don't understand why some people just can't accept that. There is NO afterlife.
  • There are many kinds of atheists. Some see us as light bulbs that once burned out are ... burned out. Others accept the idea of spirituality, if not God, and see the evidence for NDE's, OBE's and reincarnations as acceptable.
  • Death is the one thing that is certain in one's life. "We have been dead for billions of years before we were born - and it didn't hurt" - Mark Twain (paraphrase) So atheists don't believe in an afterlife. Many take this as good reason to enjoy life and life it to the fullest.
  • Straight in the eye, no reason to fear it. We wont be judged, we wont feel anything or even know we are dead. easy peasy.
  • You live, you die, the end.
  • Since Atheism isn't a religion or club, there isn't any one way every atheist looks at death. We each have our own ideas about it. I think that once my body dies, so does my consciousness. My body will decompose and become part of the process of regeneration. My ideas, thoughts, dreams, fears, triumphs and shortcomings will live in those I shared them with. My DNA will belong to the future of man.
  • Lights out
