You need to add more of each of the other ingredients to fix that one. I personally like hot. I don't like too much black pepper though, that is overpowering and too spicy.

Firstly, there is no such thing as too much better in soup, but... lemon is a good counter-balance to heavy peppering, I hear.

Serve the soup over potatoes, dumplings or noodles. That will balance the flavor a bit.

If it's not too mixed in some chiefs place a slice of bread on top for the pepper to cling to...You could always add liquid and make a larger portion then just freeze the leftover soup which is always as tasty used in the future!
