Why is it that when your rich you get more expensive free items, where as when you are poor the only thing you can get for free is clothing from the 60's?

Because celebrities are used as advertisements for the company. People see them wearing, using the items and think" Oh, I want one of those". Personally I think it's despicable. I watched a show where Lindsay Lohan took 13 pairs of "free" sunglasses (at several hundred dollars a pair). I was so angry at the greed and waste (one rapper throws his shoes out after ONE wear) that I contacted several of these promotional companies by email and asked for some for the orphanages I support in Bali...one replied! While she could not donate items, she did make a generous donation to the orphanage account. So, the moral is: appeal to their consciences...they need to get real.

Because rich people are obviously better people than poor people, and deserve it more.

They are considered to be "incentives", to get the rich people to buy, wear, or support their brand. It all means bigger revenues in the end for the companies.

The rich become richer, the poor will always remain poor and the middle class pay for everything. Always has been, always will be.
