  • Stupidity
  • There are many many folks on AB from many many walks in life. I have befriended many people from AB who are Doctors, Lawyers, Police Officers, Medics, Pastors etc.....Yes I feel certain that many questions asked on AB have been answered by very wise folks.
  • Sometimes they are looking for a personal view of something and asking for what others may have discovered through their own research on a subject. AB isn't usually the only place of asking they have done, just one more place. And there are some people who are experts in those fields or have that same problem themselves. It's not a substitute for doctor's care, I'm sure they know, but it's just one more piece to a puzzle.
  • Many have not bothered to read the disclaimer provided at the bottom of every answerbag pag saying AB cannot guarantee accuracy of answers submitted by members. In other cases they are looking for a second opinion of their problems in addition to what their family doctor gave. In any case I do not think anyone follows the advises they receive on the answerbag without consulting their physicians. So no harm done.
  • Hey now you just never known when a doctor with nothing more important to do could be here just to answer these questions and yeah I am being a smartass, sorry for that, but what gets me is the number of so called emergency situations I have seen in questions here. I seriously doubt that if some one were to be bleeding to death or any other emergency that "a friend" or "relative" would hop on here and ask a question instead of picking up the phone and calling 911. No offense to any of you that are stupid enough to do that.
  • Yes. I wonder if there would be less serious health questions on AB if everyone had universal healthcare.
