Even in a bad economy the US Government can print money with little reduction of the number of foreigners will to trade our paper for their goods. This is because if you want to buy oil (and everyone needs to buyoil), OPEC will only take dollars. If you think someone will sell oil for something other than dollars, ask Sadaam how that worked out for him. NASA is part of the government, so there you go.

Difficult for many to understand, but projects like this actually stimulate the economy. The money is all spent right here, rather than being sent to some foreign country...or spent there. All the businesses that contract with the government in the NASA projects are helped...as well as the employees who work for them. I hope the knowledge we gain is not seen as useless information. It is not.
