Hmm. I'm not sure that people would see it as repenting, I think they'd see it as the person getting away with the sin they had committed because they wouldnt have to live with the guilt of it...depends how you look at it I guess. I think repenting and accepting it would be to live, and deal with the consequences, not kill yourself and take the easy way out. But then again, I'm not a mormon....

Absolutely not! Suicide is not a form of repentance! A sin is a sin. The Bible says all have sinned and the wages of sin is death. But the good news is that if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. Jesus paid the debt for all our sins on the Cross, and we just need to be humble and repent and we will be forgiven. There is no sin too big for God to handle, and that is why we say "Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom!"

Sounds like an insult to me, committing suicide is for idiots with more Hollywood dramatic emotion than non-lemming human sense. Keep on going and try to make things up or back. A bit related but I read a quick paragraph somewhere that there was a Jewish prostitute coming home for the night and she saw a well beside which lay a dog panting with thirst. See took off her shoe and filled it with water to give the dog to drink. The selfless act was so loved that all her sins were forgiven. Soemtime you don't know what act can be done until you go through to the end. It was one of the Caliphs I think who said that a man can do or say something without placing much significance to it but it could be such a deed in the eyes of Allah that it could turn all his good deeds or bad deeds to dust.

I assume you are talking of blood atonement. Murder cannot be fully repented of in this life. Under blood atonement, the murderer could choose capital punishment, enabling him to repent that much sooner. The act itself is not part of the repentance process. Blood atonement has not been practiced in a very long time by the LdS Church, but it is one of the underlying reasons Utah supports capital punishment. Murder is a grave enough sin that missionaries need special permission to baptize murderers. I, personally, wouldn't fault them for taking the easy way out. But cutting their life short prevents them from learning all the lessons mortality offers.

My friend if you were to commit suicide, you would be guilty of Murder. I do not think that would help much. I presume you are referring to blood atonement. The doctrine of blood atonement came from the Lord, way back in the early part of the Old Testament. Gen.9;8.."Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man." Notice this is long before the Law of Moses. So this doctrine was taught by Adam. It did not originate with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It just happened to be one of the things that was restored, when the Lord restored all things...Later

No, blood atonement only works when you are killed by Melchizedek priests that love you.
