I don't think China has any insidious plans to take over anywhere----it just wants to modernize as quickly and as best it can. To date, they've done quite remarkably, considering there's well over a billion people living there. I am quite amazed by that country's rapid development. When I went there 25 years ago as a kid, everyone was still riding bicycles and wearing shabby Mao suits, and the cities were impoverished dumpyards. When I returned there three years ago in 2006, I was flabbergasted by all the modern skyscrapers and neon lights. And the streets are now filled with BMWs, Mercedes Benzs, and Rolls Royces! Almost every kid as young as 6 has a cell phone now. Sheesh!!

You're reading Does China have an insidious plan to take over America by stocking her with sub-standard parts so she won't be able to defend herself when her machinery falls apart?

Hello, I was in Hong Kong in 99 and was impressed. It rivals the Big Apple. I know China has no plans on America other than protecting its sovereignty from too much foreign influence.. something that is lost to us.

One thing I would like to add is that to modernize that quickly comes at a price. I wonder if the price was in people and violations of their human rights.

China's rapid modernization and progress is certainly impressive, and scary. I think it is the latter that makes a lot of people in the West fearful and suspicious of China. Also, whenever something is really good, people like to "hold a candle" to it and look for faults. It is human nature to do so.

I think it also history that teaches everything comes at a price and much sacrifice. You can't build anything here without taking someone's land. I doubt it is much different anywhere else and what if they refuse?

China has an advantage because it can be ruthless and erase all history of it. That is what's scary.

Yeah, if you look at world history, those civilizations which have advanced the greatest also have the most turbulent, ruthless histories. You can't crack a few eggs or step on a few toes without advancing. Lol.
