It may show up as an accident but will reflect that it was not your fault or the other driver was at fault. Get a personal injury attorney! Don't settle with the insurance company until you are completely cleared by your treating physicians as at maximum healing capacity. It may take longer but you will preclude yourself from the maximum payout you are entitled to.

First, take care of yourself. Did the other driver have insurance? After the police made their report, your insurance company will contact the other drivers insurance company for a settlement. Your driving record will reflect you being involved in this accident, but will show you as not at-fault. this will have no bearing on your future auto insurance or drivers license. If a settlement cannot be reached between insurance companies, your insurance company will sue the other drivers insurance company. To be on the safe side, if the above does occur, you will probably need an attorney of your own. For now, take care of yourself, try to relax and wait to see what developes between both insurance companies.
