Old town is kinda fun.

Definitely go to Sea World and the San Diego Zoo. That zoo is one of the best ones I've ever seen. There's lots of GREAT little taquerias that are open 24 hours, and serve inexpensive but DELICIOUS mexican food. Don't pass them up. Spend some time on the beach, or take a drive along the coast.

Balboa Park. there are tons of museums, gardens, walking trails, the SD Zoo is there, a very nice resaurant called the Prado, a music pavilion that has concerts during the summer and around the holidays.

Coranado Island. There is a lovely view of Downtown San Diego across the bay. And take a walk through the venerable and famous Del (Del Coronado Hotel). Seaport Village is a collection of small shops in a lovely surrounding on the bay. The walk around there is most enjoyable, even if you don't buy anything in the stores.
