Why do people feel a need to use juvenile attacks against leaders that they disagree with? (i.e. Making fun of Vladimir Putin's baldness or Kim Jong Il's height...)

For the same reason that words like "racist," "sexist," "ageist," "Fascist" and "Communist" are thrown around so loosely: it's easier than thinking.

if the leader is a tyrant or a vile communist, they deserve to be criticized, and normally their appearance gets lampooned along with their vile, hateful, evil politics.

We've been making fun of people's looks for a long time, world leaders aren't exempt from it. It's comedy, and it's here to stay, there'd be no SNL, or Mad TV, or even sitcoms if we couldn't make fun of anyone.

Anyone, especially those in the public eye, is open to these kinds of attacks, and in this respect world leaders are no different than any celebrity who is ridiculed for their looks, it's just human nature.

I think most of the people who do this are followers and use juvenile attacks because they lack the knowledge to back up the opinions they have adopted.
