I'm no pro but I am currently tryin to breed my female dog and I beleive it's best anytime during her being in heat time. :0) Anybody correct me if I'm wrong. I'd like to know too.

If you're not sure when the right time is, perhaps its best to leave it this time and do it when you are fully prepared. Are you confident that if your bitch got into trouble during whelping that you would know how to deal with it? Are you confident you have the time and money to care for the pups properly and to socialise them fully? Do you know anyone who breeds dogs (eg your dogs breeder) who could perhaps advise and guide you?

WHY do you want to breed your bitch? Are you currently showing her? Has she earned her points and titles as a Champion? Have you had her Temperament Tested? Does she have her Canine Good Citizenship certification? Do you know that for EVERY PUPPY BORN, a shelter dog is KILLED? DID YOU KNOW that EVERY SINGLE WEEK...in the USA, over ONE THOUSAND DOGS IN POUNDS AND SHELTERS (ONES UP FOR ADOPTION) ARE KILLED AFTER NO ONE ADOPTS THEM ON LAST DAY? Do you know, because she has earned her titles, that your bitch is going to IMPROVE the Husky breed? OR...are you thinking that 1. PUPPIES ARE SO CUTE! 2. My bitch would LOVE being a Mommey! 3. I can make money off of the puppies, because I have papers on my bitch! 4. All my friends want one of my girl's puppies, they all have homes. PLEASE RECONSIDER!!! 1. The puppies that will not be adopted...ARE NOT SO CUTE AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN KILLED. 2. Your bitch, could care a less about being a Mommey, the thought never entered HER HEAD! 3. Any RESPONSIBLE breeder of just about any type of animal will tell you that you don't make that much off of your puppies...by the time all of your COSTS have been factored into the mix...you are lucky to break EVEN! As a rule, only the top breeders can ask a high enough price to TRULY cover all of their costs! 4. If your friends want a puppy, why not encourage them to check out a pound, shelter, or RESCUE group that specialized in the breed they want? Pounds and Shelters OFTEN have pure-bred dogs that would make wonderful companion animals, or even WORKING dogs. The police often use pound dogs, as do MOVIES..(GUESS WHERE BENJI CAME FROM?) My Shepsky (GSD/HUSKY) is a SAR dog! Most of the Bloodhounds on the team, came from our local shelter! Are you going to become part of the problem or part of the solution? If you are hell bent on breeding...at least have the kindness of heart and the responsible nature to SHOW your dog and find out what she has to CONTRIBUTE to the gene pool to IMPROVE the breed! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE!

I strongly recommend that you find male husky to breed her instead. XD
