  • I would like to think of it that way! LOL! But cellphones do emit certain waves of radiation as some say that interfere with the proper workings of the planes computer system. Hope taht helped!
  • No. banning is for two reasons: 1. signal interference with the planes onboard computer and aircraft controls. you go down. 2. cellphones do not work in the air, except satelitte phones. Safety is the main reason.
  • YES! in fact on some flights now you can indeed use your phone and you can se your phone on any personal aircraft of course at any time.. The myth that cellphones can mess up plane equipment is just that..a myth. Airlines went along with it because they do not want people yapping on the cellphone, disrupting others and not listening to instructions of the pilot or the stewardess. Maybe long ago phones might have messed with communications or nav devices on planes but that is totally ludicrous in these times..if a cellphone could down a plane, believe me they would confiscate those along with your nail clippers and breast milk too. People who own their own planes use cellphones on them all the time and no crashes. Aside from that, at the speed one is traveling it's pretty hard to get a good signal, but not impossible...many planes have phone devices on them now and you can use them in flight..but again, that's once you have taken off and are allowed to put your trays down, move about the cabin and all of that.
  • It would be a domino effect, and soon EVYTONE in the cabin would be chatting on the phone, trying to distract themselves from all the other people yapping loudly on the phone.
