Why didn't the UN impose any sanctions against USA for invading Iraq without its permission?

The war in Iraq was justified. If Saddam got his hands on weapons of mass destruction. He would have used them. Why can't anyone grasp this concept.

Because a lot of muslim countries didn't want to be the next target.

The US has a veto in all matters related to security, so it has the power to prevent any and all actions directed against itself. It already prevents anything from being done against Israel's crimes against humanity. Can you imagine anything against the US itself getting off the ground?
