  • Failed? At what, Emma? If someone does not "like" you as you had hoped, how is that your failure? They have simply failed to make a good friend and lost the chance to know you....Their loss..not yours. Stop thinking you are responsible for what other people think or perceive. You are not. Listen, this should be your mantra,.."Like me, fine...Don't like me, your loss....
  • You failed in one situation, Emma. That doesn't make YOU a complete failure. It sounds like you might need to know that. A self-fulfilling prophesy is when you practically force yourself to fail, or give up trying, dear. Those prophesies don't count when there are lessons you have left to learn (that would be pretty darned unfair of the universe, don't you think?). In this instance, you simply haven't learned confidence.....that's all it was. Not a single person on earth can honestly say they've never screwed up from lack of confidence. It happens all the time :) So, you screwed up. Big deal! It isn't going to be the last time, either, I can tell you that! Here comes the trite part. If she couldn't see the person behind the lack of confidence, then would she really have served you well in the future? When the next time comes around, and you find you aren't so confident, would she still stand proudly beside you? It doesn't look like it from where I'm sitting. Why don't you chalk this up as a learning experience, and vow to find yourself someone who will positively adore you for who you are, faults and all? Cuz I tell ya.....your faults ain't going away any time soon. None of ours will be. +5
  • What was it you said that you think came out pretty badly?
  • If you worry too much about stuff like that you either withdraw altogether or you try too hard. It is always best to be yourself. People who like you will like who you really are. People who don't will dislike the honest/real/true you and that's fine. You can't beat being yourself. If someone needs you to pretend to be something/someone else, you don't need that person in your life. Learn from this and don't repeat it. There are plenty of people who will like who you are. The world is full of phonies. You will stand out of the crowd by being honest! Happy Monday! :)
  • All "failures" in life are an opportunity to learn "valuable" lessons! See it THAT way. . . . . . . . .then move on! You're "human"!
