I only use syrup if it's actual Vermont maple syrup from a tree. Growing in in New England, the stuff was everywhere, and often cheaper than Aunt Jemima. To all of you who consider that corn syrup stuff to be REAL syrup, eat a gun right now and save me the hassle of beating you mercilessly.

No I do not use syrup,but I do use fresh lemon juice and sugar.

I use as much sweet butter as the pancakes are able to absorb. Then I create a lagoon of mayple syrup, refills as needed. A glass of cold milk washes this down. Death to carb haters, my butt and boobs look great!

I only put syrup or fruit on my pancakes. Sometimes together, sometimes not. I like to heat real maple syrup with sliced fresh fruit. Sort of a like a warm maple compote.

Sure if we have some, followed by sugar, icing sugar and cream and strawberries if we have any :) +5

if i make american pancakes i have chocolate chip pancakes and syrup otherwise i put sugar and lemon on top

If I do not have toppings, I use syrup. If I have toppings, I do not use syrup. My topping of choice is strawberries.

The fake syrup is revolting. I made my own in a pinch that tasted pretty good. Butter, brown sugar, honey and cook it up till thick. But that is all I use with butter, not toppings please.

yes. always. and it's true. vermont maple is the only way to go.
