G'day dddsss, Thank you for your question. The chances are not great but they do exist. Ideally, she should take the pill for the same time over 21 days followed by a rest. The pill currently has a failure rate of 5% due to women forgetting to take it. The other thing is that just after her period is not her peak fertility cycle but sperm can last for some days. I have attached sources for your reference. I am not medically trained, so please watch for a better answer. Personally, I think the chances are slim. Two reasons: women are most fertile mid-cycle (approximately two weeks after her period), and; an eight hour slip with the pill is not usually a big deal.

Well thankyou all for your help, I think this helps out some. I also have a follow up though, if about a week later, we have sex and i dont come in her, she misses another pill, but we take the plan b pill this time. Now normally she is extremely good about taking them, same time every day. She didn't tell me about the slip the first time because she didn't want to worry me(as to the reason why i didn't encourage her to take the plan b bill). I know this time is slim to none chance (or is it?) becuase I did get the plan b pill soon after and I didn't come in her, but basically, my question is, does the fact alone that she missed 2 pills in a month throw off her cycle or anything? I always hear you can't miss 2 pills in a row but never knew about 2 pills with a good distance in between them.

I don't think you have anything to worry about. But I would try to help her to remember it on time. Sometimes life is pretty hecktic and a call to say take the pill might help in the future.
