Should I take the train or a bus for coast-to-coast travel? I want to go to Vancouver but I don't want to fly because I want to see the plains/rocky mountains and I don't mind spending a few days.

Definitly go greyhound bus to meet interesting people sights are great and greyhound makes stops in major capitals i love bus travel trust me just go greyhound

I recommend trains unless you're trying to save money.

I suggest taking the train, it's more scenic. I did meet several VERY interesting people on the bus, some good, some...not so much. I was just not a very comfortable ride. And it took SOOO long.

If you can afford, I recommend the train. It's more roomy and comfortable than the bus.

Having done both, I personally prefer taking the train. Its easier to get up and stretch your legs when you want to, plus there might be a dining car with an open bar or coffee station. I envy you the trip. Where will you depart from?

The train will be more enjoyable, and the bus will be more economical.
