Should you use the cardboard spacers in a scrapbooking album and how often (every so many pages)?

I add the spacers when ever I add another pack of pages. so about every 5 or 6 pages. But if you usea allot of 3-d embellishments you may want more spacers (you could use leftovers from chipboard sheets). basicly you want your book to be able to lay flat when closed
