  • when im scred i fight it, and i try to work through it. with help from my friends if they are there
  • I almost always end up letting it paralyze me. It's a huge thing in my life but something I need to work on.
  • I'm way more fight than flight. Chase me with a spider and I'll lay you out. Can't help it; it's just a natural thing.
  • When I am really scared, I react first, then it hits me afterwards. This has saved me from a potentially bad car accident on more than one occasion.
  • I'm pretty tall and therefore some of my friends' friends try to tackle me for fun when I'm walkin down a hall or something. Out of nowhere I have a 200lbs person on me and usually end up putting them into a wall. I regularly chase drunk drivers, have run after purse snatchers, and normally take control when everyone is paralysed with fear/shock. So, I guess you could say I'm more fight than flight. (Unless the flying is to pursue someone...) I've also trained myself to not be scared easily - nothing really shocks me anymore. Don't know how I did it, but I did. Good question btw
  • It is entirely dependent on the situation. If my life is in danger I am a definite flight person. If my son's--or some other person I am close to-- life is in danger then I am a fight person. If it's an internal fear, like using the phone or spiders, I am a paralyzed by fear person; but, I eventually work through it.
  • I'd like to think I'd work right through it, but I have been so scared once that it really did paralize me. I was in my home alone, looked out the window and saw someone creeping in the yard. I SHOULD have gone to the phone but all I could do was stand there... turned out he was just crossing to the next yard but he looked creepy! :)
  • The fear makes my heart pound, I get cold, then I feel the blood pound through the veins in my ears. I begin to breathe faster, and my adrenaline spikes. I have a desire to react by fighting, but it has yet to overpower my will to remain calm and assess the situation. Aversion is always my top priority as opposed to flight. If I can remove the threat or minimize it, I feel better and content than to flee and leave it intact for someone else to deal with. Violence is a response reserved for when all else fails and self defense or defense of others is the only choice left.
