What's up with colloqiualisms? Why can't people that speak the same language just speak the same language?

    There is no definition of what the language is - it is what people make it. Where do you theink the language was defined? Chaucer's time? Shakespeare's? Dickens? And where? London?, New York? Delhi - theere are more English speakers in India than in the UK, and nearly as many as in the US?

    And needs change. How would you like to communicate without any modern words like "car", "internet", "electricity", "nightclub"? All of these started as new inventions, and became mainstream because they are useful.
