  • That people would understand and avoid bigotry rather than make excuses for it.
  • I think he is still waiting on that dream!
  • Great strides have been made but you will never completely eliminate bigotry from human on this planet. People are people. Some will be bigots. What's good is when bigotry is eliminated from a country's statute books and that has happened in many countries. So yes there has been progress.
  • There is a difference between bigotry and racism. bigotry is when you don't like a person because of their lifestyle. Hippies, gang bangers, rich frat boys, etc. Racism is when you don't like someone based on their skin color. but, nowadays both words mean you don't like Obama's policies. to answer the question, I think King would be ashamed of people like Rev. Write, Jessy Jackson, and Al Sharpton and He would tell them all to grow up.
  • Real racists and bigots are vile people, using such terms has become the trend as its the modern day scarlet letter. All you need to do is find some way to make it stick (or even just give the appearance that it sticks) and you can torpedoe a political opponent's career. Doing so cheapens it and belittles the problems caused by real racists and bigots, it will also soon wear thin as legitimate concerns about current policy should not be shrugged off as 'racist' when they are nothing of the sort. Continuing to push legitimate concerns off into the fringe will come back to bite them badly.
