I think the U.S. is governed by power elites - on the right under the Republicans and the left under the Democrats. We have big business, the public sector unions, the sports and media conglomerates, and big government that caters to the powerful interests. The honest, hard-working individual in the private sector today doesn't stand a chance.

If you mean ungovernable in the sense that Congress, the White House and the Washington extablishment are loosing control of country then yes, amd I'm glad. If this answer is unclear to you then I would recomend that you buy and read "The Federalist Papers" It's a slow dry read but it is an explanation of the Constitution by the men that wrote the Constitution.
