  • I don't get it either. Our society is afraid of the human body. Watch an hour or television. Nipples are censored, yet a man can get shot in the face, and have his brains all over the floor, and that does not get censored... We consider violence and killing to be better than nudity. We are seriously f*cked up. I wish I could give you more than 5 points...
  • Its not nudity itself but because the way that sex is viewed, used and portrayed in America.
  • No, I think the body is beautiful.
  • The roots of nudity as something taboo have nothing to do with nudity istelf, but rather the arousal (no pun intended) of the more base instincts and behavior which are seen as either something best expressed privately or as something which contributes to anti-social behavior. By "best expressed privately", I'm referring to the expression of intimacy and love between individuals, which has no business being out in the open for people who are not part of that intimate circle. By "anti-social behavior", I'm referring to the behaviors some have of disrespect and dominance over others in the realm of sex and sexual behaviors. Like using people as sex objects (meaning not treating them with dignity as people), sexually oppressing others, and so forth. Nudity itself is not offensive, in my opinion. It's the baser instincts and behaviors which nudity (under some circumstances) can bring out in people that is offensive.
