This is another reason why I'm glad I don't live in the UK. First, they start regulating everything in the name of crime prevention and safety, and still everyone is getting shanked. Then they go completely overboard and criminalize self-defense. I feel really bad for my brothers and sisters across the pond these days.

Wish the article was dated and was the whole article. It sounds as though the reasoning was excessive force. I don't know UK law, but it sounds to me that their self defense law must be pretty lame.
