I am not a Christian. But there is nothing whatsoever about this passage which suggests one must go out and kill the Infidels, and it's pretty clear even to a non-believer that "loses his life for me" is speaking metaphorically -- giving up the old life to follow Jesus. It simply does not help the dialog to take passages and twist them. There are plenty of good reasons not to believe, one need not make up strange things.

+4 for anti-troll, But I don't think that passage says kill others rather die for your religion.

Good insight ScienceSwamy. + points. No it's not differet. To do jihad means to strive and there are only a few who had a job as tough as that of Jesus, so he certainly would have needed to do a great jihad. Striving to achieve what is good is good Jihad but putting effort into what is negative is bad Jihad. Here are some axample of good Jihad HQ 29:6 "And if any do Jihad (strive with might and main), they do so for their own souls: because God is free of all needs from all creation" HQ 29:69 "And those who do Jihad (strive) in Our cause (of bringing about what is right) - We will certainly guide them to our Paths: For verily God is with those who do right" HQ 61:11 "To believe in God and His Messenger, and do Jihad (strive your utmost) in His cause of (bettering yourself and society), with your wealth and your persons will be best for you, if ye but knew!" Opposing those who are onto something good is bad Jihad HQ 29:8 contains an example of bad Jihad, it says “We have enjoined on man kindness to his parents [whatever their religion]: but if they (the parents) DO JIHAD (strive) against thee to associate with Me [in divinity] anything of which thou hast no knowledge [from Me] then obey them not [on that particular issue, but continue to be kind to them]” In this example the parents are engaged in a bad JIHAD, striving to pull their child away from strict monotheism. But Jesus was fully engaged in good JIHAD. In the face of great temptation and hostile opposition he stayed true to God and called people to join him in the Jihad of total submission to the One and Only True God. Here are just a few examples: "if thou wilt enter into life, KEEP the commandments" Matthew 19:17 "For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall EXCEED the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven." Matthew 5:20 "And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me." Matthew 10:38 see http://www.answerbag.com/a_view/4315186 and http://www.answerbag.com/a_view/4315302

Why, it's exactly the same, except for the part about killing infidels.
