  • That knob controls the flow of coolant through the heater core. You say both hoses feel hot to the touch?. How long after you have started the car did it take for the temperature to get up to the normal operating temperature?. If it took longer than usual then it is probably your thermostat. The thermostat is usually located under the hose that runs from the top of the radiator into the top of the engine block. It is fairly inexpensive for the part. I would say less than ten dollars but here again I am not sure cause it's a jeep. the other possibility is you need a new heater core. Try the thermostat first. All you may need to do is rinse off all the gunk that may have accumulated on it as a result of not draining and flushing your radiator. If it is the thermostat I would buy a new one as I said it is inexpensive and would last much longer. Let me know what you find.
