A "Den" is kind of like a "home office," where the computer, filing cabinets and office supplies are kept, so a workaholic can bring his/her headaches from the office, home, or so a person can run a home-based business from their home. A "Living Room" is a place where outside-the-family guests are entertained, in a more formal-type of setting. It's the room that is always the most presentable, when "strangers" are calling, such as Avon representatives. The "Family Room" doesn't exist all that much, anymore, but in some houses, it is the smaller living room, much more casual and less "presentable," where the immediate family members would gather to watch television and informally chat about the various things they did, or that happened to them, that day. +5
