  • Hi, Lucybell! I hope you health is improving :) With a little imagination, you're one of the fortunate ones who can pull directly from nature without it costing a thing. Hubby and I like those kinds of earthy things, too. We reinforced a bathroom stall and one wall, found enough natural slate, and created an entire surround and one wall with it! We also were able to cut an extension of pvc pipe (half inch) for the shower, and cover it with a few cut pieces of slate so that it looked like a natural spring, instead of a showerhead, when showering :) You can also make your own candles, and are limited ONLY by your imagination. You can wrap them in raffia, too, for a decorative, yet natural touch. There are a lot of really GOOD candle-making websites. Check into About.com, for starters. I really, really LOVE tree bark covered with moss, and it is easy to find. Instead of pictures, I found several large pieces of bark, moistened them in the tub to pull out the natural curve, and when they were dry, hung them on the wall. It is a really lovely display! And none of it cost me a dime. +5
  • Wall hangings are always nice. Steve and Berry's is pretty cheap and you can get cloth wall hangings. Also stores like Salvation army, goodwill, and or other re-retail outlets have good buys. You just have to do a bit of searching.
  • It is easy to do inexpensive decorating using your imagination and a glue gun. It's worth purchasing one beause you will not believe how often you will use it. You can do a Google search for website that give info on decorating. You can also do a search on trash to treasures which will probably show ideas on how to turn garage sale finds into something great. Good luck. Here is a site with some good ideas too: http://www.betterbudgeting.com/articles/decorating/springin.htm
  • Put glass bottles (like left over ones from a bottle of beer or a pickle jar) on a window ledge. I think that would look pretty. Sketch shit and then hang it up. Get a bulltin board and stick away...
  • Sea shells. If you can collect large numbers you can make borders for frames, mirrors, and even stick them onto bathroom tiles with silicon. They look cool. Also certain types of hard seeds and seed pods can look great when dried and varnished.
  • I like the brown candle...very earthy. And, I love candles.
