Of course they can. Animal instincts you know.
-
A lot better than humans can.
-
Of course! Just like people can most of the time sense other people's emotions and sometimes animal's emotions. Animals can do it too! Probably far better than humans, though.

Yes. I had a little dog once who knew when I was sad or feeling badly. She would come and lay her muzzle on my knee and look at me with sad eyes. So far as I know, nothing in my behavior or expression revealed my feelings, but she always knew. : )

First, I wouldn't classify it as a matter of belief. Either they can or they can't. A zoologist should be able to devise a test to measure and quantify the results. Belief is for things that can never be proved, like the existence of invisible spirits, such as ghosts, gods, gollums, angels, devils, fairies, etc. I prefer to reserve the idea of belief to matters of superstition and religious myth. - My cat seems to read my emotions. When I approach her she either runs or just sits where she is. If she has just knocked something over, esp. if it makes a loud noise, she runs. I think she studies my gait, facial expression, and the velocity of my approach. She analyzes these inputs in her fuzzy cat brane and decides if I am friend or foe. :) But I don't think she has ESP.

Oh absolutely!

Yes, I'm sure of it.

In my experience some seem to be able to.

Of course. They can read faces, the tone of voice and general behavior. . Did You ever doubt it?

yes, dogs can smell your emotions - know that sounds weird but its true. they can read faces and probably some can hear heartbeats, smell tears etc. :)

DEFINATELY !! Every time I get upset ; my dog comes over and lays his head on my leg or licks my hand / arm UNTIL I pet him and assure him that everything is OK ... +5
-
Yeah - my animals can tell when I'm sad and they also know when they're in trouble hahaha

Certain animals, particularly dogs, because they have shared such a close and intimate relationship with man for so long. When you are happy, a dog will sense it, and want to play with you. If you are sad, the same dog may act worried and paw at you for attention.
