  • A zip code can only reveal a general area. But a zip code plus a phone number can reveal your entire address. One exception would be in a large city where an apartment building is large enough to have its own zip code.
  • 1) Many ZIP codes are related to a specific area. (of course, they should also assume the same country - and the same planet...) They won't be able to know *exactly* where you live without using supplementary information (for instance, you name or phone number could be sufficient, using an internet search engine). But they could also look for you in that area. 2) For the USA: "ZIP codes are numbered with the first digit representing a certain group of U.S. states, the second and third digits together representing a region in that group (or perhaps a large city) and the fourth and fifth digits representing a group of delivery addresses within that region. The main town in a region (if applicable) often gets the first ZIP codes for that region; afterward, the numerical order often follows the alphabetical order. Because ZIP codes are intended for efficient postal delivery, there are unusual cases where a ZIP Code crosses state boundaries, such as a military facility spanning multiple states or remote areas of one state most easily serviced from an adjacent state (q.v.)." • In the UK, the post code will identify the area where you live down to a small group of houses.
  • In the U. S. the first 5 digits give the general postal area and the last 4 supplemental digits will give them your address. RE: 10025-5784 down to a few houses or apartments.
