I might have been 11. I received another one at 17. I didn't get serious about reading it until about 22. Good question. +4

Older than 5, younger than 10. That's kind of murky for me.

3rd grade...they used to give us little red bibles in school. I went to public school and I don't remember what they gave them to us for, but I got one in 4th, 5th and 6th grades too...

An adult and I bought it. In grade school, received prayer books, study guides and missals. My parents had one of those huge bibles we would look at. +5

When I was 12 as part of my first Communion ceremony - a gift from my parents.

35. It made sometimes boring, repetitive, but often hilarious read for its incredulous absurdity. Like Randolf Churchill (PM Winston's son, who was given Bible for the first time in university said something like: "This looks like serious sxxt!") I, too fell off laughing. e.g.- Day 1: God created 'light'. Day 4: God created sun, moon & stars almost as an afterthought. (The trees & fruits were already there!) So where did 'the light' come from on Days 1-2-&-3? Must be from God's shiny arse!

Michelle, if 1994 is the year of your birth, I'm afraid your question is badly timed! * Just when you are ready to grow out of and leave behind Easter bunny, tooth fairy, Santa, angels, spirits, jinn, vampires, werewolves, elves, gremlins, imps, ogres, demons ...and gods! * Best wishes to enjoy guilt-free, responsible GEMS (good, ethical, moral & successful) life! (You won't need Bible to do THAT!)

I got my own Scriptures when I was 8. They were given to me by my parents at my baptism.
