I like this guy and we have a 9 year age difference. I am a mature 20 year old female. Is it too much of an age difference? I don't think it is but am curious as to what others think.

My husband and I are 16 years apart. I met him when I was nineteen, we started dating when I was 20, we got married when I was 21. It's more important to take note of yourselves than your ages. Are you FRIENDS? Do you actually LIKE each other, or are you just attracted to each other?

Have you ever heard "Age ain't nuthin' but a number"? It's true. As long as you both have similar goals in life and the maturity level compliments each other, I think the two of you are at the start of something beautiful. Something truly real. Best of luck.

I wouldn't have dreamed of going near a relationship with anyone who wasn't at least 9 years older than me when I was 20.

I am assuming you mean that he is 9 years OLDER than you are. I don't think the age difference is the most important thing. What matters most is how the two of you are, how much you have in common, the maturity levels of you both, how well you both get along, etc. There are many who are VERY CLOSE in age & it does NOT work out well, so age difference does not have to matter. There are those who make it very well in a relationship who have bigger age differences than that. +5

Nah, once your in your twenties the whole age thing really isnt such a big deal. The difference between a 20 yr old & 29yr old isn't worth mentioning.

I think it depends on what stage you're at in your life, and what stage he's at in his. If he's got a job or career, or business, or some aspect to his life to which he's made a firm commitment, it probably wouldn't work if you're about to graduate in a year or two and head off to medical school or law school (which might be anywhere in the country). But if you both are sure about where you're going as individuals, and those roads fit together for you as a couple, too, then go for it. Just make sure you know that's what you're doing.
