I picked up a friend and his fiance from the airport. When they got in the car, they both sat in the backseat. No one was in the front passenger seat. My husband felt this was very rude. Is it?

yes, it was rude, the friend should have offered the front seat to his fiance or at least sat up there with you. What, are you their chauffeur?

Yeah, a little bit. The airport pickup is a considerable favor, and you should not be treated like a cabbie. Kudos to your man for speaking up, and shame on them.

I think your husband is being picky about a non-issue. The fiance didn't want to sit alone in the back...nor did they want to sit next to someone they didn't know. Your friend probably felt that you as the friend would understand it, verses the mess they may find themselves in for abandoning their future mate by sticking them in the back. To be offended by this innocent action is petty.
