  • If not fuel injected, may be time to rebuild the carb. Jets could be plugged, relatively easy to clean, harder to get to.
  • Have you checked your injectors?
  • i had a 96 1500 yukon that had same problem i went through the whole fuel system to finally find out that the plug behind the rear drivers side wheel had a wire toasted on the inside (shorted wire connector at the pump) very difficult to see.
  • What engine??????????????????? Think they have a CAM sensor. That tell's the computer to get in touch with the injectors
  • I have the same problem.Interested in how you fixed it.Sounds like you poured gas into the air intake.my truck is a 1500 4wd pick up 4.3 also.Good luck I may take mine in for service.I will post the problems answer when I find out.
  • Try replacing the ecm/pcm it has a circuit that turns on and off the fuel pump when you turn the ignition on. It's only about 120 dollars and takes maybe five minutes to change. I just had the same problem!
  • The first thing to check is the fuel injector fuse. Then check the wireing from the fuse to the injectors. The from the injectors to the ECM. You need to get a fuel injector tester. A test light is not fast enough to show the pulse to the injector. The ECM supplies a ground pulse that fires the injector that is connected to 12 volts all the time. I have included the injector schematic. If you need more info, like connector locations ect. let me know and I can send them to you.
