Ladies, what's your take on "Old-World courtesy," such as tipping the hat to ladies, holding doors and chairs for them, standing when a lady comes to or leaves the table. Charming, curious, off-putting, or what else?

personally, I like having doors opened for me.chairs being held. Getting up and down is a bit odd. not many men wear tippable hats lol. I know some women get annoyed by any of this so it is difficult for men to know what to do for the best. I am not one of those shrinking violets that see themselves as delicate and fragile.( as you may have gathered.)I do enjoy courtesy and what I see as gentlemanly behaviour.

I think it's lovely - maybe some of the things like tipping the hat to ladies and standing when a lady comes to or leaves the table are a little old fashioned now.

LOVE IT... I have girl friends who I know wouldn't want a second date with a man if he didn't do all those things (apart from the first) when they were on their first date. I'm not quite as bad as them, but I do love it, and I do appreciate it in in a man. I look out for things such as that when I am dating.
