  • I think it is impossible to answer this question definitively. The owner of property that has been "defaced" by graffiti has a legitimate complaint if he/she has to clean it up. If the graffiti is offensive to the public and it has no artistic merit, (like "tagging"), then it sucks. But I have seen some GREAT graffiti art. In fact, it is getting to be common to have graffiti art walking tours in Europe (and some forward thinking cities in the US). As far as crop circles: I tend to look at this differently. They generally aren't available for the general public to view as art - unless they are digitalized images from the air. It is destructive to a crop, but honestly, it isn't much space (or yield) that is lost. I do think that the point is lost when no one can see the 'art' to it. Art SHOULD be a public dialog. Always.
  • I think that some graffiti is art and some of it is vandalism and crop circles are messages from aliens :D
