Many died to achieve the rights of workers to have a safe workplace, and the right to work overtime, or to have the Sabbath and/or Sunday for worship or a day of rest. To be treated as people, not just a commodity. The unions which brought us these rights have been well surpassed by the largest union in the world, the one with all the federal, state, municipal, and local government employees. This great union has never had layoffs. Imagine that. And since these people do the work of the elected officials, why should that ever happen? Whoa. Big problem here. No checks and balances......anybody paying attention? afscme.org
