Yeah mine doubled about a year ago, it's a preparation and I go to the local Shoppers. I bet if I went to a small independent they would charge less for the work (probably not for the ingredients), but the Shoppers is convenient.

+5 i always thought canada was so much lower because about 2 years ago the usa was in uproar because the same medicine from the same manufacturer was so much cheaper in canada.

What. You think we get everything for nothing? Yep. You're seeing right! In B.C. we actually pay for our health care. $90 a month for the two of us. I know it doesn't sound like a whole lot but our taxes are high as well. If we don't pay our medical premiums, which are mandatory, they take it anyway they can get it. Income tax refunds etc. I know where Veta is from they don't pay premiums. Some Provinces do, some don't.

Agreed, I've never really had a doctor, almost always used walk-ins. It hadn't occurred to me the companies had raised the price but it doesn't surprise me. /sigh

I moved to this town a few years ago. Can't get a doctor. I went to a walk in clinic to get a prescription for some stop smoking medication. They wanted $80 just to write the damn thing. Never mind the $80 or whatever the medication costs!

Well... Also a lot of the newer doctors are going into specialty fields. Hard to find a GP. They are basically over worked and under paid.
