  • Sure, first of all You should know how to make watercolor canvas, then .. start with watercolor techniques(artoutwest) thanks for Your sharing. :)
  • I think so but its not the best thing to use
  • Yes, you can use whatever medium you like on whatever type of surface you like. But it might not adhere. Test it well before you begin. You may be able to prime the surface with something that would hold the delicate watercolor paint. Experiment and ask questions, and good luck!
  • Acrylic is a form or plastic. If you pour water onto plastic, it runs off. I would think you would have a problem with adhesion. I can't say for sure because I never tried it, but logic seems to say no.
  • It might not work, particularly if the canvas has a plastic coating. If it's actual fabric canvas, it should work ok. If it's a canvas-printed board with a coating, try rubbing it (very very gently) with a very fine grade sandpaper before you start. This will help break up the coating and give the paint some adherance, but it may increase bleeding of colour. You may have better success using gouache rather than pan paint (gouache is still watercolour but it's a bit thicker, and comes in a tube rather than pan or blocks). If it doesn't work, try using acrylic paint that's been diluted with acrylic thinners. It flows and blends in a similar way to watercolour paint but it dries quicker. My best advice would be to experiment first and see what works best.
  • I have a friend that uses watercolor on canvas and his paintings are gorgeous. His trick is to just not use any water (or very little) and a little spit on the tip of a brush. It creates a simple way to add a lot of depth to small details.
