People eat food to excess every day - whatever the problem may be, I don't think it's always addiction.

have mercy love :( forgive me.

    Absolutely.

Consider the things you do in excess, the only time you would bring up the word "addiction" is if you or someone else saying it to you felt it was a negative thing.

This may not be for everyone's taste, but think about the sex lives of some. A healthy life could consist of quite a lot, are you addicted? Maybe, maybe not. you can like something a lot and in excess, but you don't have to be addicted.

I'd moreso be concerned about if the person thinking/saying it to someone else A. Has a right to judge that(i.e is my friend doing bad things and I need to help them?) or (am I jealous someone does something not with me so I say they're addicted?)

I think you get my drift when I say the best way to determine the answer to this question is to determine if the thing is negatively impacting their life. Running everyday to stay fit, as a single hardworking college student with all A's? No, not really a negative addiction, I'd say a positive one if they are truly "addicted".

Spending the majority of a week playing a video game as a father of 4 and late taxes? Ya, thats a negative one I think. Assuming they are mature enough to not just be lazy and the motivation really is towards just playing the game.

Addiction versus excessive action, they're not the same but can go overboard and out of control, but can be positive too.
