I am adding fabric to my skirt, and i'm using an old dress that i'm cutting up. should i sew a hem into the fabric before i sew it into the skirt so it doesn't fall apart later? (or will it be fine if i just sew it in with cut edg

    You could just serge the two together. But a French seam will work if you don't have a serger.
